PHOS is a manufacturer of high-quality stainless steel architectural products. As a down-to-earth, owner-managed company, we are value-orientated and place great importance on quality and durability. Our design approach favours reduction: simple, functional and timeless designs that fit perfectly into a clear and modern interior design.

The origins of PHOS Design

The typical PHOS design was developed in the 1990s by architect Andreas Winkler in his architectural office in Karlsruhe and created a niche in the premium segment for fittings and architectural products.

2008 marked an important milestone when Mario Grundmann founded PHOS Design GmbH. Initially, the products were manufactured in the basement of the founder's house and architectural office, where individual parts supplied externally were machined, sanded and assembled by hand.

As our success grew, the need for our own production facility arose. The takeover of the Theodor Faisst metal workshop and the establishment of a modern factory in the Rhine harbour of Karlsruhe enabled us to combine traditional craftsmanship with advanced technology.

Today, we see ourselves as a "hidden champion" and maintain close cooperation with architects, craftsmen and the specialised trade. Our products are used in public institutions, hotels, local authorities and by private end customers. This results in customised solutions that meet the highest demands.

Employee orientation, training and further education

The training and development of our employees is very important to us. We focus on comprehensive training and continuous professional development. Employee orientation plays a central role here - many of our former apprentices now hold key positions, right up to team leader. In this way, we not only ensure product quality, but also the future of our company.

Efficient production: Just-in-Time

In our manufactory in the Rhine harbour of Karlsruhe, we produce award-winning products that impress with their durability and excellent design. Our innovative manufacturing process combines traditional craftsmanship with modern technology. We produce exclusively according to incoming orders, "just-in-time", in order to work efficiently and conserve resources. Despite the customised production, our average delivery time is only 3-4 days.
